Some exclusions may apply. The 5th Floor Medical Surgical department at St. Anthony Hospital is a 36-bed medical surgical unit specializing in neuro trauma and ortho trauma. Our department is the main service line for our patients that need the care that a Level 1 Trauma Center Provides. Our typical patient diagnoses are motor vehicle accidents/motorcycle accidents, traumatic brain injuries, subdural hematomas, subarachnoid hemorrhages, spinal cord injuries, and spinal surgeries. Patients are from all age groups (usually 16 years and above) with occasional overflow of general med/surg patients.  We have a strong culture of teamwork where we pride ourselves on delivering high quality, safe patient care. Our team is a committed, caring group of colleagues who have a passion for creating positive patient interactions. Our medical surgical unit lends itself to developing great relationships with our coworkers and we work together to provide excellent patient care. We are a great starting point for someone interested in a future in Critical Care. As a Nurse at Centura, you will assume responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
