With direct oversight from the GME Administrative Director/Manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the UME/GME Program, providing administrative support to the Program Director/Associate Director where applicable. Serves as a partner in creating an outstanding learning environment for medical students, residents and/or fellows as they train at PIH Health. Through excellent communication, creativity and planning, the UME/GME Coordinator functions as the liaison between Program Director, students, residents, fellows, GME office, participating sites, other programs/departments to support and maintain an organized and effective UME/GME teaching program. Must be knowledgeable about operational activities at the various training sites in which medical students, residents, and or/fellows rotate. Coordinates departmental activities and serves as the main point of contact for medical students, residents and/or fellows at the training site. Responsible for program policy maintenance, accreditation, licensing, and boards. Indirect oversight and counsel to students, residents and fellows on administration, operations, and budget monitoring. Oversees the onboarding process for medical students, residents, and/or fellows. Responsible for effective communication to medical students, residents and/or fellows and clinical rotation faculty. Maintains clinical rotation schedules for the Program. Provides daily oversight and compliance of UME/GME activities, including reports, file, and evaluation maintenance. Works independently to ensure completion of assigned tasks.

Required:
Two years of operational administrative/coordinator experience, including budget reconciliation
Demonstrated effective administrative/coordinator of detailed projects
Must obtain LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment (PHGSH Only)
Preferred:
Knowledge and experience in a graduate or undergraduate medical education program, including management of New Innovations database
Knowledge of undergraduate/graduate medical education training and ACGME requirements
Knowledge of Medicare GME-related requirements and common contract terms
