Summary:
The Senior Performance Improvement Specialist is responsible for collecting, processing, and coordinating information and activities pertaining to quality and performance improvement for the Akron Children's Health Collaborative.  Responsible for achieving and maintaining National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) Care Management and Population Health accreditation, improving audit and HEDIS care gap performance, and executing ongoing population health activities focused on improving quality, cost and engagement. 
 
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates quality and performance improvement processes for the department, in coordination with leadership, using evidence-based improvement science practices.
- Collaborates with Analytics to analyze and evaluate ACH/ACHC data and clinical information and compares to data from external sources. Uses these data to identify, trend, prioritize and implement improvement projects and ensure the department meets key performance metrics.  
- Leads interdisciplinary quality and performance improvement teams, reporting out to various department, organization, and contracted entities.
- Monitors clinical, operational, and organizational performance to ensure safety and promote quality outcomes for the patient, family, and staff.
- Mentors and collaborates with Performance Improvement Coordinators and the department to implement evidence-based performance improvement practices. Acts as a change agent to promote a culture of continuous improvement, putting patients/families at the center of all activities.
- Understands, adheres to and educates the department in regulatory standards, as they apply to performance improvement, NCQA and the department's key performance metrics.

Technical Expertise
- Experience with project management for interdisciplinary teams is required.
- Experience working with all levels within an organization, demonstrated initiative, and good professional judgement is required.
- Critical and analytical reasoning, astute clinical judgement, strong communication (verbal and written) interpersonal, organizational, and leaderships skills required.
- Demonstrates professional, appropriate, effective, and tactful communication skills, including written, verbal and non-verbal.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint] or similar software is required. Epic software or similar EMR software is preferred.
Education and Experience
- Master of Science in Nursing degree with a current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in Ohio is r
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience in nursing required. Pediatric ambulatory, quality/performance improvement science, population health, care management and/or health plan experience is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Certification by a nationally recognized care management or performance improvement organization preferred.
- Completion of a standardized quality/performance improvement and/or evidence-based practice implementation course preferred (i.e., IQI, IHI, EBP Immersion, etc.) preferred.
