Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in Pediatrics. This opportunity requires a skilled, compassionate professional who enjoys working with children with various medical complexities to provide Massage Therapy Services.
Provide Massage Therapy Services for Pediatric inpatient and outpatient populations (and occasionally adults)
Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in therapeutic treatment for individuals with terminal or chronic illnesses and/or developmental disabilities with the added benefit of reduced opioid use
Collaborate with Physician teams to develop individualized care plans for pain, hematology and oncology, rehab, and post-surgical patients, etc.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
Other duties as required.
Previous experience working with chronic pediatric pain patients is preferred.
Experience working with multi-disciplinary care teams is preferred
Experience in healthcare is preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Experience utilizing EPIC software is preferred.
Education and Experience
Education: High School Diploma is required
Certification: Current State of Ohio Massage Therapy License is required
