Description

The Home Care Pharmacy serves approximately 1400 patients that need enteral therapy. We're looking for someone familar with the work: pumps, bags, g tubes, etc. This Tech will handle orders and communicate with providers.

Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5PM, no weekends or holidays.

SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: A technician who assists the pharmacist in certain activities such as dispensing enteral formula and supplies, medication profile reviews for drug incompatibilities, typing of prescription labels, prescription packaging, handling of purchase records, and inventory control, and may, where state law and hospital policy permit, dispense drugs to patients under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

???Medication Orders
Performs unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses. Non-sterile, non-hazard dose preparation for first fill or cartfill including preparation of oral syringes from liquid dosage forms. Delivery of patient specific doses. Prepare and perform ADC replenishment. Performs outpatient phone triage. Performs insurance adjudication. Performs medication storage inspections.

???Compounding
Performs Sterile compounding or non-sterile hazardous compounding.

???Tech Check Tech
Under authorized program is able to check the work of another pharmacy technician.

???Medication Management
Manages medication doses on the nursing unit in decentralized pharmacy operations.

???Phone Triage
Performs inpatient phone triage

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:
??? High school diploma or equivalent
??? 1 year of work experience in a related job discipline
??? Certified via Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or eligible for certificatio Registered with Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.

Preferred:

-Enteral therapy experience
