Summary
The MRI Technologist performs all magnetic resonance procedures to produce cross-sectional images of patient's body for diagnostic purposes according to protocol and age specific needs. 
 
Responsibilities:
- Performs all magnetic resonance procedures to produce cross-sectional images of patient's body for diagnostic purposes according to protocol and age specific needs.
- Performs all tasks involved in MRI screening and safety for MRI patients, families, and others that are required to enter the MRI environment.
- Follows all QA/QC guidelines for all equipment.
- Administers contrast materials and prepares and operates the MRI scanner equipment and ancillary equipment.
- Performs clerical duties in RIS, PACS, and hospital computer systems are associated with this position.
- Rotates call to provide coverage on weekends and holidays and after 9pm during the week.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
- Other duties as required.
 
Other information:
Technical Expertise
- Experience performing MRI scanning in a hospital x-ray department or private radiological laboratory is required.
- Experience in healthcare is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. RIS, PACS, EPIC or other related software is preferred
Education and Experience
- Education: Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology is required.
- Certification: Radiological Technologist license from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) is required. . Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- MRI Registry Eligible: may be hired with two years to complete registry. Non-compliance with obtaining MRI Registry may result in termination.
- Years of relevant experience: Minimum of 2 years is preferred.
- Years of experience supervising: None.
