Snowline Hospice is growing! We are seeking a new Clinical Educator to join our family. This is a full-time, benefited position located in our Sacramento and Diamond Springs office locations. Snowline is a leading hospice and palliative care provider that has been serving our patients and families for over 35 years.
The Clinical Educator develops educational programs and coordinates clinical education for clinical staff in alignment with the organization's standards of care, competency requirements, regulatory standards, and promotes an environment of quality care for patients. The Clinical Educator also provides community-based clinical training and outreach on end-of-life and hospice and palliative-specific clinical issues. The pay for this position ranges between $55.00 to $60.00 per hour based on experience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Develops and maintains evidenced-based orientation and training programs for newly hired clinical staff to educate them on the job requirements.
Develops, coordinates, and presents clinical, educational programs, including primary care, patient services, new equipment, and technology training, as well as required training for certification programs, such as Home Health Aide Certification.
Utilizes the End of Live Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) curriculum in developing clinical education for nurses.
Assists in providing ongoing training and staff development activities to address identified performance improvement opportunities.
Maintains current on best practice standards of nursing practices and education.
Provides training to clinicians within the community on Hospice and Palliative Care-specific clinical issues.
Actively participating in the coordination of all aspects of patient care in accordance with current professional standards and practice.
Participating in admission, discharge planning, interdisciplinary team meetings, and ongoing patient assessments.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Possess a current California unencumbered Registered Nurse License.
Bachelor’s in the Science of Nursing or Master’s in the Science of Nursing Education degree preferred.
Five (5) years of clinical education and/or staff development experience in a hospice environment.
Current California driver's license and driving record that meets the standards outlined in current policies
A minimum of five (5) years' experience as a registered nurse and five (5) years' experience in a hospice.
Should possess or be willing to obtain a Certification in Hospice & Palliative Care.
Proficient in the principles of adult learning and the provision of education/training to clinicians.
Knowledge of hospice and the accreditation process for Joint Commission.
Proficient with computer software, including electronic medical records, specifically Netsmart, is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal skills and public speaking skills with an ability to build relationships with community members and staff.
