The Albuquerque NMVAHCS, Zia Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders Center provides acute rehabilitation and life-long comprehensive sustaining care for Veterans with SCI/D. Facility consist of an inpatient ward with 26 nationally mandated inpatient beds, a comprehensive outpatient clinic, a robust Tele-Health program, an SCI/D Home Care program, and is equipped with a full spectrum of training devices to evaluate and provide adaptive equipment for community re-entry and a dedicated therapy pool. Major duties and responsibilities include: Management of a patient panel for both inpatient and outpatient care. participate in patient care using technology such as telemedicine, continuous improvement activities, and CARF and JCAHO compliance. Provide a full range of services including inpatient and outpatient assessment and care of both acute and chronic persons with Spinal Cord Injury or Disorders. Ensures that the practice of medicine is consistent with Joint Commission, CARF, VA policies and procedures, clinical practice guidelines, VISN standards, national statutes and regulations, medical record documentation, mandatory continuing education, and HIPAA policies.
