A career in hospice is a different kind of nursing. We make every moment count for patients and families. Our patients who are admitted to the hospice care center need assistance with symptoms severe enough that they cannot be managed at home. Inpatient hospice care involves expert symptom management for these patients in a homelike hospital setting, providing round-the-clock medical and nursing care to manage end-of-life symptoms and needs.
Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The RN Supervisor assists in the planning, coordination, supervision and delivery of client and family care services.

Is a graduate of an accredited school of professional (registered) nursing.
Is currently licensed as RN through the State Board of Nursing.
At least two year's general nursing experience is required with current hospice, home health, and medical, surgical or critical care experience. Two years previous management experience, preferred.
Has experience with providing good pain management, IV skills preferred.
Skilled in nursing practice, able to cope with family emotional stress and tolerant of individual lifestyles.
Complies with accepted professional standards and principles.
Understands Hospice philosophy, principles of death/dying.
Possesses and maintains good physical stamina and mental health.
Has presented a pre-employment physician's health clearance including a negative TB skin test and/or CXR and other tests as required by the organization's policy.
Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
Has satisfactory references from nursing school, previous (or current) employers and/or professional peers.
Has excellent observation skills, good nursing judgment and communication skills.
Ability to provide good written documentation in a timely manner.
Is self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.
Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation and has the ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.
