Assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and supplies, receiving, sorting, and stocking medications and supplies.Bills and credits medications to patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.Other duties may be assigned.
1.Prepares IV mixtures according to established procedures.Fills patient medication drawers and unit dose medication orders.Fills automated dispensing machines and other unit supplies.
Rounds and Billing
2.Picks up orders and medications for return from patient care areas.Makes deliveries to patient care areas.Enters charges and credits.
3.Checks areas of responsibility for outdated medications and adequate levels of stock.Unpacks and stocks orders.Prepackages bulk medication to unit dose or IV bulk products to syringes.
4. Maintains a good working relationship with other departments. Communicates effectively with coworkers to ensure understanding of customer needs and activities. Refrains from criticizing others, especially in the presence of customers. Frequently offers assistance to others in need. Actively participates in team meetings and often offers suggestions on how to improve the services provided.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience as hospital tech preferred.
Required Certifications/Registrations/License: Pharmacy Tech and national certification preferred. BLS Certification required.
