Underthe direction of the Registered Nurse, performs clinical duties that providepatient care to meet the needs of post-acute surgical female patients duringthe post-surgical period. These duties required critical thinkingskills and include obtaining and documenting vital signs, monitoring intake andoutput, assisting with ambulation and position change, and reporting ofabnormal findings to the RN. Duties are performed as directed within approvedstandards of care and require attention to detail and observation of infectioncontrol standards and patient safety standards. Performs other relatedduties as directed such as equipment maintenance and stocking of rooms. Assumes responsibility for meeting the basic needs of all patientsassigned. Provides care to a patient population ranging from infant togeriatric, unless otherwise indicated. Works collaboratively as a memberof the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet department andhospital goals. Provides quality care according to established practicestandards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned. Must be willing/ableto float to other (comparable) nursing units, as requested/needed.

High school graduate or equivalent
Successful completion of CertifiedNursing Assistant Course, CNA Certification, completion of NursingFundamentals Course in an accredited RN program, EMT certification or CertifiedMedical Assistant
Must have current BCLS certification
Previous hospital experiencepreferred
Completion of phlebotomy course
